march badness

i'm getting worse at updating, and we don't even have the baby yet! down to 52 more days until the due date, but at least we are making progress with preparations. we've successfully completed our move, and with the help of a discovery bay version of craigslist and dave lee's strength, we've managed to pick up a few items for a bargain.

the most difficult/fun piece to move was our couch - we picked it up from a 6th floor flat on top of a hill (up 250-ish stairs), and then borrowed a small trolley to try to roll one end and carry the other. this prompted hysterical laughs from at least one little girl and a security guard. the guard was nice enough to offer her own wooden platform with wheels which allowed us to fashion a make-shift car out of the couch. since the front needed stabilization, we had dave sit on it just past the middle point and i tried to control our rate of descent as we cruised down the hill. unfortunately our hands were too busy to take pictures, but it must have looked funny seeing a guy rolling down a hill sitting on a couch because we heard more than one "wow" and saw quite a few astonished bus drivers, passengers, and golf cart drivers as we rolled past.

our "free" time seems to disappear before we know it, and we hop from one saturday to the next. we have another doctor appointment this morning, and we have been attending prenatal classes during the past few mondays. they have been pretty interesting and have helped us to think and learn about a lot of things. i'm still getting over the shock of the video they played on the first day (!) but otherwise it's been pretty informative. before all of you experienced dads start laughing, hey, i saw that birthing movie in sixth grade, and again in child development at byu, and again on the tlc channel, but this one was a bit disturbing.

anyway work is still fine, and alicia has arranged a more flexible schedule at her job so she can avoid some of the discomfort that is becoming more and more common as we get closer. we'll post some pictures soon and edit this post to include them.
